Defence Minister of India 2019: (Nirmala Sitharaman) Defence means “Raksha” to secure the nation or to defend the country from outsider attacks, cover our borders and maintain the integrity of the country. India having three types of borders i.e JAL (Water), THAL (Land), NABH (Air). Indian Armed Forces cover all the boundaries. There are three types of armed agencies which are Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Airforce. All the three forces are deployed at their own concerning fields.
Ministry of Defence (Rakhsha Mantralya) is charged with coordinating and supervising all the agencies. President of India is solemn commander-in-chief of all the three armed forces of the country. Minister of Defence (MoD) offers different types of jobs. MoD consists of all the armed forces i.e Indian Army, Indian Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coastal Guard.

Indian Army comprises the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, Army. etc. All forces have their own duties. Like
- BSF – Border Security Forces, secure the border of Indian territory
- CRPF – Central Reserve Police Forces maintains the internal integrity like secure from the Naxalites, Maoist and other riots in India
- CISF – Central Industrial Security Forces, paramilitary forces which secures the central govt industries like RBI, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, SAIL, BHEL, Airports, Delhi Metro, etc
- ITBP – Indo-Tibetan Border Police Forces, deployed at the Indian-Tibetan border and secure the boundary at the China-Tibet border connecting to India.
- Military – Military always commands in the wartime and this force is specially trained for the war.
These forces invite the different types of Defence vacancies in various streams like Engineering, Medical, Clerical, and Management department. Services Selection Board (SSB) is the board which conducts the recruitment for the graduate students. For Defence Jobs, It conducts the 5 days interview. After passing the interview officers grade jobs are provided in the Indian Army.
NDA, CDS, are the two basic exams to enter into the Indian army. The main difference between them is that NDA is conducted on the basis of 12th standard and CDS is conducted on the graduate basis. After clearing the NDA there is a four-year training program, But in the CDS Candidates has to go for a 1-year training program only. They can choose the IMA/ AFA/ INA for their future carrier.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. It is the world’s fourth largest air force in terms of both personnel and aircraft. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It is a very prestigious feeling to serve the country working in the IAF. It’s very electrifying to serve in the IAF.
IAF organize AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test) which recruits the Flying Branch, Ground Duty – Technical and Non Technical and many more posts. You can join the Indian air forces from the CDS, NDA as well. IAF recruits for the various posts itself separately for the post of Airmen, Group X and Y, and l as well as in Medical field, Accounts, Clerical staff, LDC, MTS, HKS & other group d services like a storekeeper, Washermen, cooks, Barber etc.

Indian Navy is the Indian armed forces which secure the water boundaries of the Indian territory. Indian Navy is capable of operating above, on and under the surface of the oceans, efficiently safeguarding our national interests. Indian Navy having three Commands “-
- The Western Naval Command (Headquarters at Mumbai).
- The Eastern Naval Command (Headquarters at Visakhapatnam)
- The Southern Naval Command (Headquarters at Kochi)
